AUTO-RENEWING EXCHANGE SSL CERTIFICATES
Raise a CSR on your server by following steps:
- Log into Exchange Control Panel, go to Servers a long the left side
- Click the "Certificates" tab along the top
- Right click the existing certificate "ExchangeCertificate" and choose “Renew ” in the left side of the screen.
- Save the CSR file to the servers temp folder on the C drive ex \\gvmex16\c$\Temp\exchcert
- Open the file in Notepad, select all, and copy
- Go to https://certs.godaddy.com/cert and log in account
- Click on the certificate name
- Choose “Re-Key”
- Click on the + symbol next to “Re-Key certificate”
- Paste the CSR into the box and click Save
- Click “Submit All Saved Changes”
Now GoDaddy will process your certificate. Within a few minutes or so you should recieve email confirming certificate was ready for download.
I downloaded the certificate, unzip it, and transferred the files back to the Exchange server location \\gvmex16\c$\Temp\exchcert .
- Log into Exchange Control Panel, go to Servers a long the left side
- Click the "Certificates" tab along the top
- Right click the existing certificate "ExchangeCertificate" and choose “Complete ” in the left side of the screen.
- Type the certificate location and name – \\gvmex16\c$\Temp\exchcert\7efc7676cfebe53a.crt
- Click “Complete”
