How to check if Outlook is in Offline Mode
If you can not receive or send any emails your Outlook may be in 'Offline Mode'. You can check this by looking in the bottom right corner of your Outlook, if it says 'Connected to Microsoft Exchange' then you are online and all set. If it says 'Working Offline' then you will not receive or be able to send any emails during this time.

To change this, in the 'ribbon' section of your Outlook you'll see 'Send/Receive'

Selecting this will bring up the options to update your folders, along with the option to turn on/off working offline mode.
